Prior to his retirement in May of 2022, As Chief People Officer for UKG, Dr. David Almeda was responsible for overseeing the global human resource function for one of the world’s largest application software companies. As a member of UKG’s Executive Committee, Dr. Almeda drove the company’s global human capital management strategy – including talent acquisition and development, compensation and benefits, analytics, talent management and employee engagement programs – to support the company’s continued growth, innovation, and profitability. In this role Dave was also had responsibility for the real estate, internal communications, physical security, and facilities functions. UKG has repeatedly been recognized as a top place to work globally by Fortune Great Places to Work for All, Forbes, People Magazine, Glassdoor, The Human Rights Campaign Foundation, The Disability Equality Index, The Anita B Organization and numerous others.

Prior to UKG Dr. Almeda held a number of senior-level positions at Staples, Inc. Dr. Almeda was deeply involved with helping to grow this organization from ~10,000 U.S. based employees to over 90,000 employees world-wide. Revenue grew from ~$2b to ~$25b during this same time period. Dr. Almeda held positions in a number of different functions including human resources and strategy. Prior to Staples Dr. Almeda worked in a number of organizations in both operational and human resources roles.

Almeda has been recognized as a leading CHRO by multiple organizations including, but not limited to, HRO Today, Mass TLC, HR Executive Magazine, the New England Human Resource Association and The World HRD Congress. Dave is an advisory board member of The CNBC Workforce Executive Council, The Conference Board (Human Capital Advisory Board), Workforce Magazine and The Workforce Institute at UKG. A sought-after expert on HR issues, he has presented at or been published by organizations including the Harvard Business Review, The Conference Board, Forbes, Cornell University (ILR Review), The Atlantic, The New York Times, Talent Management Magazine, Inc. Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times of India, Workforce.Com, CNBC and CMO Magazine.
