University of Miami Business School

Daniele Macciocchi is an Assistant Professor at the University of Miami Herbert Business School. His research interests focus on two main areas: (i) corporate governance, with particular emphasis on shareholder activism; and (ii) the role of information in shaping financial contracts and the interactions between different economic agents.

Macciocchi's research has been presented at numerous international and national conferences and has been published in the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Accounting Research and the Journal of Accounting & Economics. David Eccles School of Business

Daniele Macciocchi is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah. He is also the Membership Committee Co-Chair of the International Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association, a member of the American Accounting Association, European Accounting Association. Daniele’s research focuses on the role of corporate disclosure and governance in capital markets. He investigates the link between a firm’s ownership structure and disclosure, information asymmetry and stock liquidity. He is also interested in the interaction between family characteristics and economic decisions. Born in Italy, Daniele Macciocchi earned his doctorate with an accounting concentration at LUISS University of Rome in Italy. Prior to this position, he was a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a visiting doctoral fellow at the University of Miami, School of Business Administration, and a Lecturer of Financial Statement Analysis and International Accounting Standards at UNINT University of Rome, Italy. Furthermore, Daniele is a CPA and a Public Auditor. Education
