Colin Lewis

Dr. Colin W. P. Lewis, Ph.D. is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) researcher, although he prefers to call it Machine Intelligence (MI). Most of his work focuses on understanding human intelligence and creating solutions for artificial intelligence that benefits humanity.

He is also an Adjunct Professor and international business and policy advisor, specialized in the social and economic impact of technological change. With specific knowledge of the evolving conditions of technology for productivity growth, development, labor, (in)equality, and competitiveness.

Colin was previously a Data Scientist for one of the world's fastest growing Data Software companies where he managed Machine Learning project installations across multiple systems in several Central Banks. This work required him to have a deep familiarity with cause prioritization and macrostrategy of household debt and savings – his project design, management and oversight helped over 1 million people get out of debt and embark on sustainable savings programs.

Colin has a Ph.D. in Behavioural Economics & Data Science. In the past he was an advisor to the management board of an annual turnover 100 billion Euro company and before that he was the founder and CEO of a software integration company, taking the business from start-up to stock-listing.

Although Colin has contributed to a variety of fields in economics, his research generally has a specific focus in understanding intelligence and building beneficial AI. His research has also shed light on technology automation, robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and their impact on society. His diverse background ensures he has the ability to synthesize knowledge from various disciplines and to make judgments and solid recommendations about future scenarios.

His spare time is spent reading, playing chess, or doing something athletic, where he walks or runs with Sherlock an English Springer Spaniel — together they typically cover 20 to 25 km's each day. He is a triathlete and vegan, passionate about animal welfare and helping others be the best they can be in service of our fellow humans and other creatures on this beautiful planet.
