Background
Colin Jones (Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University, 2013) is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Finance, director of the Carolina Finance Scholars Program, director of the Student Managed Investment Fund and faculty director of the Carolina Finance & Investment Association. He received the Alfred G. Smith Jr. Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2016. He also advises and consults with several start-up companies. Prior to joining the Moore School of Business, he was a visiting assistant professor of finance at the College of William & Mary. His professional experience includes time as an entrepreneur in the music industry, a research assistant in economic development and an analyst at a venture capital firm.
Research
His research focuses on venture capital, investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and distressed debt opportunities.
