Biography

The Kets de Vries Institute

Christopher focuses his coaching practice mainly on two areas. The first is career life cycles of executives (e.g. transitioning into new roles, renewal after reaching a career plateau, managing one’s own succession etc…). He works with both individuals and groups. He runs an innovative “career reflections” programme for partners at a number of firms. The second, leadership teams driving deep change e.g. new strategic orientation, re-organisation or changes in compensation models. He works to facilitate team dynamics and overcome typical patterns of teams under pressure e.g. polarisation, resistance to change, indecision. He has also worked extensively with in-house legal teams on reorganisation of teams.

Christopher has undertaken a major Europe-wide research on partners’ career in professional services firms. He regularly speaks at conferences on careers (International Bar Association, Managing Partner Forum UK, Spanish Annual Legal Forum), has contributed to several books on coaching and leadership succession and has led a leadership programme at Sciences-Po business school (France).

He started his career working for the European Commission in Central Europe (Czech Republic, Latvia and Estonia) in the 1990s on the transition programmes that prepared candidate countries for EU membership. In 2000, he joined Clifford Chance, to participate in building its corporate university (Netherlands). His last role before creating his own consulting and coaching practice was European Director of Learning and Knowledge at Linklaters with a specific focus on post-merger integration.

He is a French and Norwegian national and obtained his coaching qualifications from INSEAD and is further trained in systemic coaching and constellations and group dynamics. Christopher graduated in political sciences from Cambridge university (UK). He works in English, French, Spanish and Norwegian.
