Christian Vossler is the Department Head and Gerber/Taylor Professor of Business in the Department of Economics, Haslam College of Business, at the University of Tennessee. He is the director of the UT Experimental Economics Laboratory, a fellow of the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy and a fellow of the Center for Behavioral and Agri-Environmental Research (C-BEAR). He currently serves as a co-editor for both the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (JAERE) and Environmental & Resource Economics (ERE).

Vossler is an applied microeconomist whose research primarily focuses on environmental and public economics issues. Much of his research has centered on non-market valuation methods used to estimate the benefits of environmental and other public goods in monetary terms, with special attention to issues of mechanism design and the external validity of survey-based methods. Other research areas include the development and testing of pollution control instruments and mechanisms to motivate regulatory compliance, and the interaction between social preferences and public goods provision.

Vossler currently teaches courses in econometrics, environmental economics and experimental/behavioral economics. He joined the faculty in 2003, directly after receiving his Ph.D. from Cornell University. He has a B.S. in Environmental and Resource Sciences from the University of Nevada and an M.S. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Oregon State University.
