Christian Keuschnigg is Professor of Economics with a specialization in public economics at the University of St.Gallen. He has published extensively in his areas of research expertise.

Professor Keuschnigg works at the intersection of macroeconomics and finance, and is currently investigating the effects of economic policy and financial sector regulation on economic growth and business cycle fluctuations. In this respect, he is revisiting the role of banks in economic growth driven by creative destruction. By restructuring loans to firms with poor prospects and high default risk, banks accelerate the exit of unproductive firms.
