Biography
Imperial College London
Christian Hampel is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Imperial College Business School. Prior to joining Imperial he completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge and was a Research Fellow (postdoctoral researcher) at the University of Oxford.
Christian’s research interests lie at the intersection of entrepreneurship and organisation theory. Christian currently studies these dynamics in the social innovation and fintech spaces.
Christian's research has appeared in the Academy of Management Journal and Academy of Management Review, among other outlets. His dissertation was one of three finalists for the 2017 Grigor McClelland Doctoral Dissertation Award.
Since 2020 Christian is an Associate Research Fellow of the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation, University of Cambridge. He was a visiting pre-doctoral fellow at Northwestern University's Kellogg School in 2015. Before academia, he worked in strategy consulting.
