Background

Chelsea Rae Austin holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Iowa and an M.S.T. and B.S.B.A. from the University of Central Florida. She joined the faculty of the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in the fall of 2014. She teaches undergraduate taxation. Austin’s primary research interest is taxation, especially the determinants and consequences of tax avoidance decisions. Prior to returning to academia, Austin spent three years as a tax accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is a certified public accountant.
