Dr. Charlene Geisler graduated with her Bachelor’s in Accounting (honors) in Singapore. While she was an undergraduate, she felt called to pursue teaching in higher education. Upon graduation, she worked as an auditor at Price Waterhouse (now known as PriceWaterhouseCoopers), specializing in telecommunication and manufacturing audit clients.

Dr. Geisler earned her Ph.D. in Accounting with a minor in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004. Since then, she has been involved in teaching in various universities in Singapore and North Carolina and had taught at all levels. Besides teaching, she has also been involved in curriculum design and faculty recruitment. She started as an adjunct instructor for Liberty University in 2017 before joining as a residential faculty in 2022.

Dr. Geisler’s research interests lie in the judgment and decision making of investors and public accounting professionals and their use of accounting information. She is also interested in research on factors affecting the learning success for accounting students. She had presented her research in various conferences by the American Accounting Association (AAA) and had also served as an ad hoc reviewer for the mid-year meetings of the Auditing section and the Accounting Behavior and Organization section of AAA.
