Singapore Management University
Changcheng Song's primary research interests are in household finance decisions, and the interaction between household finance, macroeconomic policies, and behavioral economics, using both observational data and experimental data. His papers have been published in the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Development Economics, and Journal of Human Resources.
His research focuses on household finance decisions in housing market, retirement savings and insurance, household consumption and debt. He also conducts field experiments to identify the barriers to the diffusion of new financial products and assessing the potential for financial education to overcome these constraints. He has conducted fieldwork in China, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Kenya, and Uganda. He received his B.A. from Tsinghua University in China, and Ph.D. in Economics from University of California Berkeley.
