Biography
I am a qualified general nurse and midwife, having over 20 years experience in clinical midwifery practice. Having gained considerable clinical experience, my clinical expertise and interests are in the area of intrapartum care. For a number of years I have my time between clinical practice and research before becoming a full time lecturer in midwifery in 2010. I have experience of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, having worked on a number of diverse studies. I am a peer reviewer for a number of journals and an editorial board member for the African Journal of Midwifery and Women''s Health. I have an interest in global women''s health and work on projects developing capacity in research and clinical audit in Africa.
I am lead for the BMidwif undergraduate Dissertation unit and deputy lead for Pregnancy and Birth and Tackling Health Inequalities units. I supervise both masters and PhD students in a variety of topic areas.
