Dr. Parrott served as director of the school's Russian and European Studies Program for more than 30 years through 2013. He also served on the American Council of Learned Societies - Social Science Research Council Joint Committee on Slavic Studies and on the board of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies. He has also been a consultant to the US Department of Defense and the US Department of State. Dr. Parrott received his PhD in political science from Columbia University.
