Biography

Brian Phelan is an associate professor of economics and Driehaus Fellow at the Driehaus College of Business. He has been at DePaul since 2012.

Phelan's research and teaching interests include labor economics, demographic economics and applied econometrics. He is currently working on projects related to the automation of low-wage jobs, the spillover effects of minimum wage laws and the labor market effects of high-skill immigration.

Phelan is a Driehaus Faculty Fellow in the business college in addition to being a Research Fellow at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and an Affiliated Scholar at the University of California, Berkely's Center on Wage & Employment Dynamics.

He currently teaches Principles of Microeconomics and Introductory Econometrics in the undergraduate program and Labor Economics in the MS-EPA program.
