Biography

Co-founder of the band Bricklin, Brian along with his brother Scott were signed to A&M records in 1986, and again more recently to Hybrid/Sire Records with their group, Martin’s Dam. Their song “Fear of Flying” from the Hybrid/Sire debut “Sky Above,” received airplay on radio stations across the country, and is featured in the motion picture, “The Shrink is In,” starring Courtney Cox and David Arquette. Another fake bags song from that album, Only God Knows is featured in the Alexander Payne/MTV/Paramount movie, “Election” starring Reese Witherspoon and Mathew Broderick.

Brian has performed in venues including New York’s Madison Square Garden, Philadelphia’s Spectrum and Tower Theatre as well as the 4th of July Celebration on JFK Parkway. He has songs featured in many popular movies such as “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” (Keanu Reeves), and “Coming Soon” (Bonnie Root, Ryan Reynolds and Mia Farrow.)

Brian’s production and engineering credits include major label releases on A&M, Columbia, RCA, PolyGram, Hybrid/Sire, Bingo Records, and Ruffhouse. You may also have heard Brian’s music on the tube, as his many television credits include: ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, ESPN, and others. Brian has worked side by side with two-time Grammy winner Neil Dorfsman (Sting, Paul McCartney, Dire Straits), Phil Nicolo (Moby, Sean Lennon, Urge Overkill), and Kevin Killen (U2, Elvis Costello, Peter Gabriel).

Since 2002, Brian has recorded, mixed and mastered songs and albums for over 200 bands, label recording artists, singer-songwriters and children’s music albums including The Voice season 7 artist, Matt McAndrew, the Bingo Hits for Kids series, Kayfield and Co., Ben Arnold, Jim Boggia, Easter, Scott Bricklin, Modern Bliss, 4-Sided Circle, Phyllis Heitjan, The Trumans, Original Sinz, Firetruck, Subpoena and countless others.

Additionally, Brian worked with acclaimed hit songwriter and producer Rick Nowels and songwriter, Frankie Storm on the song “Guitar Cry” for Rhianna. Brian co-produced and engineered the band, Franklin Bridge, who were in the top 8 finalists in American Idol’s Next Great American Band on FOX and is currently co-producing guitar virtuoso, Joe Mas’ first solo album featuring Bootsy Collins and Rick Derringer.

Brian has served as the director of the Philadelphia Music Conference as well as been three times elected to the Board of Governors in 2004-2005 for the Philadelphia Chapter of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Grammy organization. Brian has served as chair of the MusiCares committee and two times on the craft committee for the Grammy award; Best Engineered Recording, Non Classical. Brian the director of Music Training Center’s Live Performance Programs, is an adjunct faculty member at Drexel University’s, Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, Music Industry Program, and a game-day audio engineer for the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Villanova Wildcats Football, LAX and Basketball.
