Biography

Bauer College of Business

Dr. Miller has more than 30 years of combined teaching and management experience focused on the improvement of both manufacturing and business processes. Throughout his years in industry, he utilized lean systems tools, kaizen, quality tools, operations management and supply chain concepts and the theory of constraints to enhance the operating performance of manufacturing systems. Dr. Miller previously taught in the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University where he was the Assistant Director of Continuous Improvement for the Center of Operational Excellence, creating partnerships between education and industry. He continues to influence the operational improvement of organizations through teaching operational improvement concepts within both graduate, undergraduate and executive education courses. In the classroom, Dr. Miller especially enjoys utilizing his business experience to demonstrate the "real world" application of academic concepts. Through a combination of lecture, in-class exercises, case studies, demonstrations, simulations, and industry interactions, students learn to manage business processes and improve organizational effectiveness.
