Biography
ESCP Europe Business School
Frank Bournois, MBA, PhD, FRSA, is the Dean of ESCP Europe. He was previously a Full Chair Professor of General Management and Director of CIFFOP at the University of Paris, Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). Also a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management (UK) and in several other European Universities.
Served as Deputy Human Resources at Rhône-Poulenc Fibers & Polymers (1987-1991). Joined academia at the University of Lyon III (1992-1996). Appointed by the Prime Minister a Member of the Institute of Higher Studies for National Defence, where he was Head of Studies and involved in competitive intelligence of France’s largest companies (1997-2001). Was a Professor at ESCP Europe in Paris (1998-2008) where he directed the Research Chair on Executive Governance and ran related executive development programmes.
Has widely published in Comparative European Management and he is the author of books and many articles in French and English on human resources management (high flyers, leadership development, executive committee,…. He has published 13 books, contributed to 20 chapters and written over 30 articles in refereed journals. Including “Cross-Cultural Approaches to Leadership Development” (Quorum, 2002), “Pourquoi j’irais travailler”, (Eyrolles, 2003), “Les meilleures pratiques RH du CAC40” (Editions d’organisation, 2003 and 2007), Top Pay (Sage, 2004), Comités Exécutifs, (Eyrolles, 2007).
A member of the Editorial Board of academic journals The Journal of Human Resource Management, the Journal of Managerial Psychology, Journal of Management, Spirituality and Religion, Risque et Management international , and the French Journal of Geoeconomics
