Bobby Kimbrough

In his second groundbreaking term as the first African American elected Sheriff of Forsyth County, North Carolina, Bobby F. Kimbrough, Jr. is a consummate law enforcement professional who has protected and served on a local, state and federal level for more than 40 years. His innovative approach to law enforcement blazes the path in technology, community relations and leadership in his 650-member agency as well as law enforcement agencies throughout the state of North Carolina. An enduring love for speaking and connecting to audiences has afforded him the opportunity to speak throughout the country on leadership, achievement and overcoming difficult times. He used his vast knowledge and experience from his time as a Senior Special Agent with the US Department of Justice as a media contributor and analyst. He has been featured on Fox News, CBS and dozens of radio and television broadcasts throughout the United States and Canada.

Kimbrough’s unwavering commitment to community finds him serving in both leadership capacity and through grassroots initiatives. He currently serves on boards of directors and commissions including the North Carolina Innocence Commission, United Way of Forsyth County, Carolina University, Camp Hanes, AeroX and YMCA of Northwest North Carolina. Bobby was recently appointed by the Governor to the North Carolina State Council for Interstate Adult Offender Supervision.

Formally educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County public school system, Bobby F. Kimbrough, Jr. also received a Bachelor’s Degree from High Point University and a Master’s Degree from Carolina University. He completed the Leadership Institute at Harvard University and received a Doctor of Humane Letters from Carolina University for his commitment to education, leadership and humankind.
