Dr. Arthur Carvalho is the Dinesh & Ila Paliwal Innovation Chair and an Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Analytics at Farmer School of Business, Miami University. His research interests lie at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, and Decision Analysis. In particular, Dr. Carvalho works on the development and deployment of artificial intelligence and statistical techniques alongside disruptive technologies aiming at improving business processes and decision making. Dr. Carvalho's research has been published in academic journals such as Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Decision Analysis, EURO Journal on Decision Processes, The Journal of Prediction Markets, among many others. His views have been featured in Inside Higher ED, Poets & Quants, The Journey, among others. Before joining Miami University, Dr. Carvalho worked as an Assistant Professor at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He received his Master's of Mathematics and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo (Canada) in 2010 and 2014.
