Arnold’s banking career spanned across a number of major European and Asian banks, lending to many industries including but not limited to mining, conglomerates, manufacturing, trading, commodities, services, infrastructure and financial institutions. A banker is a complete banker only when he lends in the good times and recovers well during the bad times. Arnold has experienced two to three business cycles during his career.During 1997 financial crisis, Arnold chaired steering committees and successfully restructured debts amounting to USD1B, from major borrowers which are now thriving healthy companies. At the same time, he set up a fund to invest in the debts of companies which were fundamentally sound. The funds made 20% returns within a year and helped to complement the loan recovery of other debts for the bank. His managerial roles included head of corporate banking, head of trade finance sales and Assistant General Manager for credit approval and credit training. From 2012-2017, Arnold built the entire credit training infrastructure for a global bank and implemented comprehensive training programmes and materials across Asia and Oceania. He conducted training regularly in key cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon, Manila, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Auckland, and Sydney, conducted no less than 200 training sessions during the period
