Biography
An expert in the areas of child care and health care management, Dr. Herman brings her quantitative and data analysis skills to bear on research related to social issues.
Her research interests include office automation protocols and project management - particularly involving child care and health care management systems. Dr. Herman has been a key contributor to several programs conducted by the Harold Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and serves as an instructor in two Head Start/UCLA Anderson School partnership programs: the Johnson & Johnson Management Fellows Program and the Los Angeles County Office of Education Leadership Institute. She also serves as faculty advisor for the Management Development for Child Care Professionals Program.
She consults and teaches at Cedar Sinai Medical Center and conducts research on Head Start issues funded by Johnson & Johnson. As an instructor, Dr. Herman has received several awards for outstanding teaching, including the Head Start-Johnson & Johnson Outstanding Teaching Award and the Citibank Teaching Award. Fluent in Hebrew, French, Italian, Romanian, German and English, she was previously an associate professor of statistics on the faculty at the University of Paris prior to joining the school in 1989.
