Anne Smart

About

Anne Smart is the director of the Family Business Center at Loyola. She began working with member families in 2009 and subsequently became the membership director. She was named center director on June 1, 2016.

Deeply committed to perpetuating the sustainability and growth of family businesses and the families that own and operate them, Anne is continually seeking new and meaningful ways to enhance the personal connections and shared experiences of Family Business Center members within both the family business and Quinlan communities.

Part advocate for families and part champion for family-owned businesses, her commitment to the center and its members is rooted in her belief that confidential support and family collaboration have a profound ability to create positive change.

Anne is the third director in the center’s long history. She leads a team equally dedicated to supporting member businesses, families, their employees, and communities.

Anne served for more than eight years as a career and human resources consultant. Her experience in higher education also includes fundraising leadership roles at Loyola University Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
