Presentation

Family entrepreneurship and corporate governance forms the basis of my doctoral work.

As the field of family business has developed from various fields of enquiry, scholars have not only struggled to agree upon a definition of family business, but they have also confronted scepticism about whether family business should be studied as an organizational form in its own right.

Family firms have been distinguished from non-family firms because they, amongst other things, pursue non-financial outcomes. Since owners subjectively place value on their ownership stake, my work investigates the non-financial benefits and costs related to family business ownership.
