Biography

National University of Singapore

Anna has been involved in shaping the carbon market from the beginning on both the supply and the demand side for compliance as well as voluntary regimes. She started CDM and JI project development in 2001, advised utilities under the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme, served as investment advisor for two carbon market funds (ISCCP US$ 280m, CCISA Euro 80m) and developed carbon neutral products and services for the voluntary market. From 2008 to 2018 she advocated for high ambition and high integrity carbon pricing regimes around the world as Vice President Policy for London based Climate Markets and Investment Association (www.cmia.net ). Anna has been on the inside of the UNFCCC negotiations in public, private and non-governmental roles over the past 20 years and helped REDD+ and Art. 5 in the Paris Agreement come along. In 2019, she joined Wildlife Works as Global Climate Policy Director, where she works with Governments and corporates to develop Indigenous People and Local Community (IPLC) centred forest conservation and restoration projects backed by culturally adapted governance and benefit sharing models that truly invest into the guardians of the world’s precious natural spaces. Anna holds an M.Sc in Agricultural Engineering from Goettingen University, Germany, and lives in the South of England where she spends as much time as possible outdoors as co-director in a community farming project.
