Since then, she has done proofreading, copy editing, content editing, production editing, writing, and indexing, working on how-to books, novels, textbooks, manuals, reports, audiovisual programs, magazine articles, and journal articles. The topic areas have included math, science, medicine, law, social science, language arts, electronics, education, computer science, photography, writing, and general interest.

Besides holding a BA in communications, Ann has pursued postgraduate study in law and art. As part of her art studies, she wrote, directed, produced, and edited a 22-minute video drama, as well as numerous shorter video projects.

Another son lives in Tacoma. Besides reading, writing, and editing, Ann enjoys movies, puzzles, games, walks, public transit, meals with people she loves, and a wide variety of cultural activities.
