Biography

Dr. Andrew A. Brogowicz has been involved in PLANNED INNOVATION® activities for more than 20 years. He assisted Drs. Frank Bacon and E. Jerome McCarthy with the development of the Product-Market Analysis (PMA) component and has conducted numerous PMA training seminars and coaching sessions in both the U.S. and Europe. He has also participated in several Diagnostic Business Reviews.

Dr. Brogowicz is a professor emeritus of marketing at Western Michigan University, where he taught graduate-level courses in new product development and marketing management and served as chairman of the department of marketing and director of undergraduate business programs for the Haworth College of Business. Before joining Western's faculty, he was employed as an assistant professor of marketing at the University of Illinois at Chicago and as an analyst in the Ford Tractor Operations Equipment Marketing Planning and Analysis Department. He is currently a member of Designed Nanotubes, LLC and has performed consulting services for firms in the automotive, banking, chemical, defense, energy, health care, office furniture, pharmaceutical, and travel industries, as well as for a number of not-for-profit organizations.

Dr. Brogowicz has co-edited five editions of Readings and Cases in Basic Marketing and assisted Dr. E. Jerome McCarthy in writing several editions of Basic Marketing: A Managerial Approach and the 1st and 2nd editions of Essentials of Marketing. He has published numerous journal articles and served on the Abstracts Editorial Board of The Journal of Product Innovation Management.

Dr. Brogowicz is a past president of the West Michigan Chapter of the American Marketing Association and a charter member of the Product Development and Management Association. He received his BSBA and MBA degrees from Wayne State University and his PhD in Business Administration from Michigan State University. He and his wife reside in Portage, Michigan.
