Presentation

Dr. Andreas Wieland is an Associate Professor of Supply Chain Risk Management at the Department of Operations Management, Copenhagen Business School. He joined CBS in 2014. Prior to this, Andreas was the Head of the Kühne Foundation Center for International Logistics Networks at the Department of Logistics, Technical University of Berlin. Andreas’ current research interests include resilient and socially responsible supply chains. His articles have appeared in journals such as International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, and Supply Chain Management Review. He is the European Co-Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics and Co-Chair of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP) European Research Seminar. He is a Senior Associate Editor of the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management and a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Logistics: Research & Applications. He is also the editor of the blog scmresearch.org.

He currently teaches classes in logistics and supply chain management. He is also a faculty member of CBS’s Full-time MBA and a visiting lecturer at the Nordakademie, Hamburg. He has led humanitarian logistics courses at various institutions in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda. He has co-developed a program on supply chain management for professionals in Poland.

Andreas is the recipient of several awards, including three Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence (2013, 2014, 2016), the Harry Boer Highly Commended Award (2012), and an Award for Outstanding Achievements in Teaching at the Technical University of Berlin (2014). He was selected as Reviewer of the Year for 2015 for the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management. Andreas studied at the Clausthal University of Technology, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and the University of Münster, where he earned his Master of Science in Information Systems. He received his doctorate in economics from the Technical University of Berlin in 2012 (summa cum laude).
