UW Professional & Continuing Education
As a museum professional, Amy Sawyer strives to illuminate the intersection where life, community and art connect. She began working with the leadership team at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art in evolving capacities after completing the University of Washington Certificate of Museum Studies program in 2015.
As an associate curator, Sawyer has played a key role in museum exhibition curation, community programming, discovering and spotlighting regional artists, producing exhibition catalogs and managing collections. She has served as a juror for regional arts organizations in addition to training and mentoring volunteers and interns. Before pursuing a career as a curator, Amy served as an education assistant at Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma and holds a B.A. in art history from Oklahoma State University.
