Amitai Touval, PhD, is a Doctoral Lecturer in the Allen G. Aaronson Department of Marketing & International Business at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College. Dr. Touval holds a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from Brown University. He specializes in developing lesson plans that incorporate the principles of active learning and universal design. Dr. Touval has worked as a business analyst, instructional designer, and social media director at ITAP International, an organizational development firm. He wrote the instructions for the programmers who automated the Culture in the Workplace QuestionnaireTM, which ITAP had licensed from Geert Hofstede, and helped market and develop ITAP’s training and consulting programs for global corporations. Dr. Touval has published scholarly articles on the reputation of East German elites in the aftermath of Germany’s unification, and a book that compares Airbnb to other forms of paid and unpaid hospitality.
