Colonel Allen “Al” Leth joined the National War College Faculty in 2021 from United States Forces Korea where he served in the J5 as the Director of Communication Strategy and, subsequently, the JTF-National Capital Region where he served as the Director of Operations. He received his commission as an Infantry Officer from the United States Military Academy in 1997. Colonel Leth has served in command and staff assignments across the Army and Joint Force as well as operational and combat tours in Bosnia (2002), Iraq (2005), Afghanistan (2011), and Qatar (2015). He is a 2018 graduate of the National War College and holds Masters Degrees from Texas A&M University, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the National Defense University.
