Dr. Ali Poyan-Mehr is Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Glomerular Disease Study & Trial Consortium. Dr. Poyan-Mehr graduated from Charite Universitaets Medizin in Berlin, Germany. He completed his residency, and fellowship training in Nephrology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). His research activities include the creation of a glomerular disease registry as a platform to study rare and devastating forms of kidney disease. Dr. Poyan-Mehr is serving as Principal Investigator or co-Investigator on several clinical trials for patients with various forms of kidney disease and acute kidney injury. He has developed a new electronic medical record dashboard used at BIDMC for patient centered care of chronic kidney disease, and electronic decision support tools for providers. Dr. Poyan-Mehr is the Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the BIDMC Renal Division. He helps define strategic quality improvement goals, and design and implement of quality initiatives.
