Said Business School
Professor Kern Alexander holds the Professorial Chair in Law and Finance and is Professor of Banking Regulation at the University of Zurich.
Professor Alexander is an internationally recognised expert who has authored books and articles on international financial regulation and European Union and British banking and securities regulation. He is the author of many research articles and books, including most recently Principles of Banking Regulation (Cambridge University Press, 2019) and Brexit and Financial Service (co-author Moloney et al, 2018).
He has served since 2009 as a regulatory and policy adviser to the European Parliament and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's Trade Negotiations and Commercial Policy Division. In addition to academic publications, he has co-authored major reports commissioned by the European Parliament.
Professor Alexander will be co-directing the Oxford Bank Governance Programme alongside Amir Amel-Zadeh, Associate Professor of Accounting.
