Biography
London College of Fashion
Danish designer Alexander Hinnerskov graduated in 2007 with a BA Honours in Product Design from Cental Saint Martins. His interdisciplinary approach has led him to work with product development, bespoke furniture making, lighting design as well as interior design and styling. Having experience in all aspects of the creative process across design disciplines has meant working with clients such as Fredrikson Stallard, Tomasz Starzewski, Eva Menz, Torsten Neeland and Underdog Studio. He has been teaching since 2013 in a verity of design subjects supported by his academic knowledge, practical skills and industry experience.
Studio Alexander Hinnerskov is a creative practice using design to create objects for everyday use. The work of the studio is based on an intimate study of the objects that we interact with on a daily basis. Exploring design beyond function and aesthetics, the studio is driven by a curiosity of the more complex and intangible relationships that exist between objects and people. This includes areas such as human behaviour, craft, identity and tradition.
Studio Alexander Hinnerskov was established in 2017 by Japan born Danish designer Alexander Hinnerskov and is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Alexander holds a bachelor’s degree in product design from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design where he now teaches Design Courses.
Studio projects are completed by a solid design process drawn from extensive experience with designing home accessories, furniture, lighting and luxury interiors for clients such as Fredrikson Stallard, Tomasz Starzewski, Eva Menz, Torsten Neeland among others. This includes projects for David Gill Galleries, Veuve Clicquot, Iittala, Swarovski, Cartier, The Municipality of Copenhagen, AIAIAI, IO-interactive and more.
One of the recent achievements of the design studio is a Wallpaper* Design Award 2019 for the Tea Scoop from the Bronze Tableware Collection.
