Research & Teaching Interests

Professor Scott''s research focuses on firm behavior in business-to-business auctions and the effectiveness of governance mechanisms in buyer-supplier relationships. He uses detailed industry datasets to derive insights into supplier behavior. He teaches supply chain management and supply chain analytics.

Industry & Academic Experience

Professor Scott worked for 9 years prior to returning to academia. He worked as an engineer for J.B. Hunt Transport and Kenco Logistics, and as a consultant and project manager for IBM, where he led supply chain projects around the world. He has consulted in a variety of industries on five continents.

Services to the Profession

Professor Scott is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), and the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). He has served as a reviewer for Production and Operations Management and the International Journal of Production Research.
