Biography
Alejandro Saporiti is Senior Lecturer and Postgraduate Research Director at the Economics Department of theUniversity of Manchester. He joined the Department in 2006, after graduating from the University of London with a Ph.D. in Economics, under the supervision of Prof Marco Mariotti. During the academic year of 2007-08, he was Research Fellow at the Wallis Institute of Political Economy of the University of Rochester. After successfully concluding this visit, he re-joined Manchester University in August 2008 as a permanent faculty member. His fields of specialization are microeconomic theory and game theory, with a focus on political economy and social choice. His current research centers on formal and experimental models of electoral competition and voting mechanisms. He has published his work in international journals such as Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Economic Theory, and Theoretical Economics.
