XCPD-455 Workplace Application (A) - Leading and Influencing Across Differences
This course covers the use of effective communication skills such as giving/ receiving feedback and the art of influencing and empowering others. In addition, students learn powerful data collection and diagnostic skills in support of developing strategic D&I recommendations to a client. Workplace Application (A) is the preparatory course for the presentation of a D&I strategic plan to a real-world client system.
By the end of the course, successful students will be able to:
- Articulate current theory on the art of influencing change as a leadership competency.
- Practice coaching and influencing skills and receive real-time feedback on their effectiveness.
- Gain clarity around when to advise or use coaching, mentoring, or other developmental activities in support of a diversity and inclusion initiative.
- Experiment with behaviors that enhance the use of one’s self as an agent of change.
