Full disclaimer.

In this interactive foundational session, students will learn fundamental distinctions between problems and polarities and how to see the predictable pattern present in polarities. Participants will practice polarity mapping to help individuals and systems harness the tension in a polarity in a way that leads to sustainable action. Instructors will teach the philosophy and methodology of polarity theory and show how to practically apply research that suggests leaders, teams, and organizations that leverage polarities well outperform those who don't.

In addition, this session will lay the foundation for using polarities and paradox as a leader, coach, or practitioner to deepen awareness and understanding of one’s self in order to accurately grasp how your way of seeing and acting affects those you lead and those you coach.

  • Describe the history, research, framework, and practical skills of Polarity Thinking
