About the course
You will gain the critical insight, practical knowledge, and management skills required to integrate successful blockchain technologies to business activities. As a student, you will study various applications of blockchain technologies such as smart contracting and crypto currency mining and examine the key processes involved in the planning, integration, and maintenance of this data management technology. In the classroom, you’ll learn through a combination of lectures, tools application, case studies, and expert guest speakers, as well as group work with presentations and peer reviews.
Module 1: Introduction to Blockchain Technology Ecosystems
This module covers a comprehensive overview of the blockchain technology history and the current or emerging application in different industries such as finance, transportation, healthcare, security, communication, and supply chain. From different case studies participants will learn the challenges and opportunities posed by blockchain technologies (scalability and interoperability) and how blockchain technology intersects with existing regulations.
Module 2: Cryptoassets Management and Mining Methods In this module, participants are introduced to the world of cryptocurrency and mining applications. Students will study the different management strategies and regulatory frameworks for cryptocurrencies and learn how different methods are used to mine cryptocurrency.
Module 3: Decentralized Applications and Smart Contract Different industries employ blockchain with smart contracts to do business. In this module, students will learn about smart contract platforms and software and study the current and emerging models of smart contracts throughout decentralized ledger networks.
Module 4: Blockchain Integration and Business Strategy
Participants will take a deep dive into organizations that have integrated blockchain technologies as part of their business strategy in this module. Students will learn from different industry experts how blockchain has been integrated and how it was aligned with other critical functions of the organization. Students will also learn how to implement this technology successfully by studying specific cases.
Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:
- Explain what blockchain technology is and how it works, as well as insights into how it will affect the future data management.
- Compare and contrast different cryptoasset management strategies and crypto currency mining methods;
- Apply blockchain-decentralized applications and smart contract relevant to your industry;
- Analyze and design management strategies integrating blockchain technologies relevant to your industry.
