This training is designed for all those who hold responsibilities within companies: managers with proven professional experience, already having or acceding to business steering responsibilities at the level of a company or a profit centre at strategic and operational level.   • Analyse a portfolio of business units and judge which to invest in and which to divest
  • Recognise ways in which a corporate parent can add or destroy values for its portfolio of business units.

WEEK 4: STRATEGIC MOVES

  • Identify the appropriate choices between organic growth, M&A and strategic alliances.
  • Identify key success factors and challenges in the successful management of M&As.
  • Explore the concept of ecosystems, and how it can boost an organisation’s financial results.

WEEK 5: STRATEGY IN ACTION

  • Understand how the strategic process works.
  • Explain some of the challenges of managing strategy development, and how to tackle them.
  • Understand what is meant by deliberate and emergent strategy development.
  • Discuss the ideal strategic process.

WEEK 6: STRATEGIC CHOICES AND METHODS “PUTTING EVERYTHING TOGETHER”

  • Analyse strategic problems using strategic management analytical frameworks and concepts.
  • Build and communicate sound strategic recommendations.
