“Smarter Collaboration” book by a Harvard Law School fellow

Reading Time: < 1 minute

This November, distinguished fellow at Harvard Law School Heidi K. Gardner and the executive vice president of the global financial sector Ivan A. Matviak released a book providing their approach to solving challenging problems in the modern world.

Published by the Harvard Business Review Press, “Smarter Collaboration: A New Approach to Breaking Down Barriers and Transforming Work” book tells how to organize work inside your company and collaborate with potential partners. The book includes several examples of how companies develop through smarter collaboration. Readers also can take a psychometric test, described in the book, and identify 7 different dimensions leading to greater collaboration within the firm.

Heidi Gardner is a former McKinsey consultant, Ivan Matviak is formerly chair of multiple software companies and Bain consultant, so the collaboration of thinkers with backgrounds in business was really fruitful and resulted in the publishing of a book that collected much positive feedback.

As Paul Polman, former CEO at Unilever, put it: “In the coming years, one of the most significant private-sector divides will be between companies that embrace collaboration, bridge-building, and collective action to help them thrive and those that remain limited by siloed thinking and poor partnership skills. Gardner and Matviak will help your business ensure it is on the right side of that line.”
