At Coursalytics, we conducted an analysis of women’s leadership programs at the top business schools in the US and Europe. We selected a total of 27 courses on women’s leadership from 24 schools in Europe and the US for our analysis. In the US, we analyzed courses from 12 schools, including Haas School of Business, The Wharton School, Columbia Business School, and Yale School of Management. In Europe, we analyzed courses from 10 schools, including London Business School, Cambridge Judge Business School, and INSEAD Business School.

Our analysis identified 16 common themes covered in these courses. The most frequent theme was leadership, which was included in almost 90% of the courses. This theme typically focused on developing management skills. Other popular themes included networking and communication (78%), negotiation (almost 50%), and the development of a personal leadership brand (almost 50%). Approximately one-third of the courses also covered women in leadership, influence and persuasion, and strategic thinking.

Additionally, we found that nearly 25% of the courses focused on developing skills in change management, emotional intelligence, and ethics. These themes were covered less frequently than the others, with only a few courses dedicated to each.
