Forms of reasoning and Artificial Intelligence: Qualitative reasoning
Artificial learning systems and their applications to Management Biography
Her areas of interest are the applications of Qualitative Reasoning and of Fuzzy Reasoning to business management, especially finance, and the study of the mathematical aspects of qualitative calculus in order-of-magnitude models, and she has participated in numerous congresses and published various articles related to these areas.
She has been a member of the GREC (Knowledge Engineering Research Group) and ARCA
(Automation of Qualitative Reasoning and Applications) research groups since 1996 and 1999, respectively. She is currently participating in a project financed by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MERITO) to develop softcomputing techniques applied to the measurement of credit risk.
She was Associate Director of ESADE''s PhD Programme from 1995 to 2004 and has represented this programme in the annual meeting of the ''European Doctoral Programmes Association in Management and Business Administration'' (EDAMBA) since 1996, and participated in the ''PhD Supervisors Workshops'' that it organizes. Until 1989, when she joined ESADE, she taught and developed her PhD thesis on functional equations and inequations in the Department of Mathematics of the ETSAB-UPC.
