Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Suzanne Nobrega, MS, is a Project Director at the Center for the Promotion of Health in the New England Workplace (CPH-NEW) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In her role as Co-Principal Investigator of the Healthy and Safe@Work Project, she directs a translational research effort aimed at promoting the use of participatory methods for designing integrated workplace safety and health promotion interventions. She has direct experience as a site facilitator in field tests of the CPH-NEW Healthy Worksite Toolkit, assisting employer organizations with participatory design of integrated, “systems” level workplace health and safety interventions. From 2007 to 2011 she was the Co-Principal Investigator of the CPH-NEW Stress@Work outreach and dissemination project, providing training and written communications for health professionals on job stress interventions for cardiovascular disease prevention. Since 2007 she has been the Principal Investigator of the CPH- NEW Outreach and Dissemination project, providing training and consultation services for safety and health professionals on program design, needs assessment, and evaluation.
In prior years, Ms. Nobrega was program manager, trainer, and developer of community-based disease prevention programs. She ran an independent consulting business providing public health clients (including the Harvard School of Public Health Prevention Research Center) with project management and product development services in evaluation, curriculum development, and health communications writing. She has completed graduate courses in Work Environment and Healthy Work Organization Design, and holds a master’s degree in Nutritional Science from Cornell University.
