American Association for Physician Leadership
Shay is an All American-/All World-ranked triathlete, former black bear researcher, burn survivor with scars over 65% of his body, and sought out motivational speaker/author.
At the age of 8, Shay was set afire by a neighbor’s child and credited with saving the life of his 7 year-old friend. Despite being told he’d never play sports again, enduring over 35 surgeries the last 36 years, Shay is a 4-time IRONMAN, 4-time member of Team USA, 25-time IRONMAN 70.3, ranked top 1% of IRONMAN 70.3 worldwide, and has competed in 10 triathlon world championships in seven countries on four continents.
Professionally, as VP Sales, Strategic Accounts for Kemberton, Shay has established himself as a seasoned revenue cycle sales executive and recognized authority on complex claims, with extensive experience forging relationships with some of the most respected healthcare systems in the country. Shay received a BS (cum laude) and an MBA (finance) from the University of Tennessee. Shay spent eight years as a chief financial officer prior to transitioning his career to focus on health care.
