Shawn Chai

Shawn Chai is a senior data scientist at Microsoft, where he works on enterprise-scale A/B experimentation and distributed machine learning for Windows and Azure products. Before joining Microsoft, he held a role as a statistician at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, where his work focused on clinical statistics and high-dimensional genomics.

Chai has more than 10 years of experience as a data scientist and statistician, with diverse collaborations with business executives, software developers, product managers, creative designers and scientific researchers. Academically, he has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers, which have been cited more than 2,000 times. He has a Master of Science in Statistics from Oregon State University.
