Biography

The University of Auckland Business School

Rob has over two decades of experience coaching leaders around the world in media and advanced communication skills. His corporate client list features major global brands across a full range of businesses including banking, finance, insurance and investment, aviation, airport management, tourism and hospitality, infrastructure development, IT, energy generation and delivery, manufacturing and agriculture, healthcare, professional and consultancy services, tertiary education and advanced research. Similarly, regulatory authorities, government ministries, local authority agencies, NGOs and national sports teams feature strongly on his client list.

Just as remarkable as the range of clients is the range of geographies and cultures – Rob has worked from Auckland to Abidjan, Hamilton to HK, Wellington to Warsaw, London, Luxembourg, Manila, Moscow, Shanghai, Singapore and more. This reflects the fact that Rob’s offering is recognised as a distinctive, integrated methodology that can be applied to almost all communications tasks, and adjusted to best suit the specific demands of the circumstances.

EXPERIENCE

Broadcast Journalism – Rob has served as a presenter, producer/director and reporter for Radio New Zealand and Television New Zealand. RNZ experience includes “Checkpoint,” Insight,” the press gallery/chief parliamentary reporter and district current affairs in Christchurch and Dunedin. TVNZ experience includes roles as business/economics correspondent and anchor/interviewer for “Eye Witness News,” with, most notably, several strongly influential political interviews during the Muldoon and Lange years. Rob also had an attachment to the BBC’s “Money Programme.”

Public Relations – Rob is a senior consultant in a NZ-owned consultancy in Singapore primarily advising a state broadcaster client and a government planning authority.

Video production – Rob co-established a production company specialising in corporate communications.

Communications Coach – Rob established, managed and headed Neale Consultants Limited, with an extensive practice from NZ in the south to Europe in the north and a substantial hub of activity in Asia.
