Biography

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

Poornima Varma is an economist by training and works in the areas of international trade and agriculture. She has a Ph.D. in economics from the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has been a recipient of US Fulbright scholarship in 2006 and subsequently she was a visiting research scholar at the department of economics of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, US during 2007-08.

Currently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Management in Agriculture (CMA) of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Prior to joining IIMA she worked as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Policy Studies of TERI University, New Delhi. She has also worked with the Centre for WTO Studies (CWS) of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER).
