Biography

NUS Institute of Systems Science

Pishu Mahtani has more than 15 years of information security and assurance experience gained from working in diverse set of industries; from Banking and Financial Services, Government and Defence, and Technology Consulting.

He currently has a concentrated focus in the area of software and embedded systems security where he's considered as a specialist in the areas of binary analysis, embedded firmware reverse engineering, IoT security and software bug discovery. Over the years, before the age of bug bounties, he contributed to the efforts in securing cyberspace through responsible disclosure of security vulnerabilities. He was a contributing chapter author (Apple iOS Security) for the development of the OWASP Mobile Security Guide and The Center for Internet Security (CIS) Security Benchmarks. Additionally, he has also contributed to Singapore’s National Body of Knowledge and authored the chapters, E4: Application Security and E5: Red Team Operations.

He has presented at technical security conferences such as Black Hat, DEF CON, DevSecCon and held training workshops at (ISC)² Security Congress APAC, Hong Kong and Singapore GovWare, on software and IoT security topics. Academically, he holds a Master of Science (MSc.) in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London and is a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP).
