Biography
Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management
Laurent started his career as Consultant with McKinsey & Company Benelux where he was involved in strategic, operational and organizational projects across various industry sectors. He took a leading role in some of the firm’s major assignments in South Africa (heavy industry) and the Middle East (Islamic banking). Among other things, Laurent has also been a strategic advisor to AWEX (Walloon Export Agency) on Islamic Finance matters.
As a Scientific Researcher with the Solvay Brussels School (ULB), Laurent wrote a thesis on the impact of the financial systems on economic development.
Laurent holds a Masters in Business Engineering and a Ph.D. in Economics & Management Science from the Solvay Brussels School (ULB). His is also Professor of Finance at the Solvay Brussels School (ULB) and regularly teaches in executive programs (MBASolvay, in-company trainings)
