Johan’s extensive international expertise in leadership, strategy and management development has been built over a 25-year career in key Human Resources roles and senior positions with international companies in the US and Europe. His work included leading major transformation projects concerning business realignment, talent and performance improvement, organization and culture change as well as developing strategic tools to ensure sustainable success. Johan has worked in many countries around the world and understands the complexity of delivering global programs across different cultures, languages and businesses.

Professional background In 2007, Johan decided to provide global consultancy services.

Prior to founding his consultancy business, Johan held senior management HR positions in large international companies across several industries and continents. He developed his expertise in leadership/management development and strategy in various top management corporate roles lately as CLO in Novelis (Atlanta – USA) (2005 – 2007). He became trusted advisor to the CEO and the Chairman of the Board and was a member of the Human Resource Committee. His CLO role included senior management recruitment, succession planning, talent management, performance management, executive and management development.

Prior to Novelis, Johan served as Director Leadership Development of The Nielsen Company (2000 – 2004), responsible for implementing major organizational changes in 18 European countries, as well as assisting senior management in developing and implementing their strategy for sustainable growth. Furthermore he was responsible in concerted effort with the CEO and his senior management team for global leadership programs and talent management.

Johan served from 1983 to 2000 in several senior positions at ITT: from 1983-1993 at the ITT European headquarters in Brussels responsible for management development and succession planning; from 1994 to 2000 in the World Headquarters of ITT Industries in Detroit and New York as Global Director Executive Development. His role included management/executive education programs, individual coaching of high potentials and succession planning. He assisted senior management in strategic people-management decisions. Being close to business he travelled to all locations worldwide and gained the reputation as a business focused HR professional. He was often consulted by the CEO and senior executives in international personnel matters.

Education and qualifications Johan holds a MS in Industrial Sociology and a MS in Microeconomics from the University of Antwerp. He is certified as Executive Coach and holds accreditations in Emotional Intelligence by the Hay Group.

Personal Johan is based in Belgium but lived in Germany, United States and Switzerland. He conducts workshops in English, Dutch, German and French and has carried out assignments in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, the Americas and South-East Asia.
